**What this job involves**:
The key responsibilities of the Indirect Tax Manager include tax compliance and reporting, providing advisory services on indirect taxation, tax planning and strategy development, audit and risk management, process improvements and compliance with regulatory changes.
**What your day-to-day will look like**:
**Tax Returns and Submissions**: review and submit indirect tax returns to tax authorities
**Tax Query Management**: Address tax queries from both authorities and internal stakeholders, including preparation of draft replies and resolution of inquiries related to indirect tax
**Tax Regulations**: Keeping up-to-date with the changes in tax regulation and industry trends, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
**Advisory and Projects**: Participate in ad-hoc advisory and projects, covering areas such as process improvement, new tax laws implementation, M&A, and restructuring
**Tax Governance**: Ensure internal controls are adequate and effective to manage compliance risks.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to optimize processes, drive implementation and address cross-functional challenges
**Desired or preferred experience and technical skills**:
Degree in Tax, Accountancy, Business Administration or an equivalent professional qualification
Minimum 5-6 years of experience handling indirect tax in Big 4, local firm or commercial
Proficiency in working with PeopleSoft, Thomson Reuters Indirect Tax Tool will be an advantage
Team player with the ability to work as an individual contributor as well as partnering with colleagues across functions and businesses
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to clearly communicate tax technical issues to non-tax professionals.
Demonstrate initiative, a constant process improvement mindset, independent, organized with strong analytical skills and detailed-oriented
Experience with indirect tax in Asia Pacific will be an advantage.
