**B. ROLE OVERVIEW**

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is seeking a temporary Economic Project Officer with a solid background in advanced manufacturing to strengthen Dutch-Singapore collaboration in this high-growth sector.

As part of the Embassy’s economic affairs team, you will help mobilize a fast-evolving ecosystem shaped by increasing Dutch interest in semiconductors, precision engineering, and digital manufacturing across Singapore and the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of trade promotion, innovation policy, and international collaboration.

You will be responsible for a one-year-project:

- **Supporting Dutch SMEs**looking to scale or partner in Southeast Asia’s semicon and advanced manufacturing sectors.
- **Fostering a community of Dutch advanced manufacturing companies**in Singapore to enable knowledge exchange and synergy.
- **Strengthen and expand the wider network**with public private partners to build a community that fosters trade, R&D, innovation and talent in this domain.
- **Boost the regional ecosystem**by creating synergies with the opportunities and activities that flow from the multi-annual trade instrument that is in place to support Dutch advanced manufacturing in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam.
- **Exploring cross-sector opportunities**in AI, photonics, cyber and quantum technologies, in alignment with Dutch priorities.

You will help set the tone for long-term engagement, following the Semicon SEA Expo in May 2025 and a Dutch trade mission on advanced manufacturing. You will work closely with the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and operate as part of one team across the Embassy’s Trade and Innovation divisions.

**C. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Determine the earning potential in this sector and accommodate the common needs of Dutch businesses to seize opportunities and respond to their individual requests.
- Act as a liaison to trade organizations and regional development agencies, by developing a Singapore strategy as part of the multi annual trade instrument roadmap and implementing it by supporting related (regional) activities.
- Explore opportunities for new and existing Dutch companies to use the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone for their activities.
- Connect with public & private partners such as Semicon Singapore Industry Association, A*STAR and leading universities to build and develop a community to foster trade, R&D, innovation and talent.
- Deliver agenda-setting input for the bilateral semicon working group with Singapore.
- Explore business opportunities in adjacent high-tech and ICT sectors that touch upon semicon, based on Dutch demand.

**E. JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Proven knowledge: degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering;
- Minimum of 2-5 years professional experience in the field of advanced manufacturing, high tech/semicon, and/or trade association;
- Strong writing and organizational skills;
- Resourceful with great problem-solving skills;
- Strong coordination and multi-tasking skills, able to perform under pressure;
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and orally.
