Data Visualization Developer

Reuters is looking for an innovative and energetic data visualization developer to help transform our news file in Asia. The graphics journalist will create interactive data-driven explanations to accompany news stories across a spectrum of topics, supporting the drive at Reuters for new ways to present the news.

This position will report to the Deputy Global Editor, Graphics. The developer will be expected to work swiftly with little supervision under tight deadlines, producing graphics conceived by Reuters journalists and editors as well as generating original ideas for graphics projects.

- Work to tight deadlines
- Understand the graphics file and envision how to represent news graphically
- Create graphics conceived by editors and journalists
- Generate original ideas for graphics

To be our **Data Visualization Developer**, you will likely have:

- Degree in journalism, and/or graphic design
- Prior experience in newsroom data visualisation or graphics teams
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS and JavaScript required
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm, curiosity and numeracy are essential
