Network and protocol research is important to improve the overall cybersecurity posture. An understanding of the network communications and the protocols within can reveal vulnerabilities that could be exploited by attackers. In this fast-changing landscape, researchers need to actively analyze updated or new protocols to stay ahead of any possible threats. To support the research, the analysis tools used by the researchers need to continuously evolve to adapt to the changing research requirements.

You can work on multiple aspects within network and protocol analysis work to gain a good understanding of the research and contribute to building secure remote communications.

The main deliverable of this project is an analysis report on vulnerabilities or suspicious activities present in networks and protocols. Where applicable, you may also be required to develop analysis tools.

**Scope & Deliverables**:

- Analyze the latest web vulnerabilities and research on protection mechanisms
- Analyze common and proprietary network protocols
- Write up analysis findings in a report
- (Where applicable) Develop network visualization tools
- (Where applicable) Develop tools and processes to improve protocol analysis work

**Prerequisites/Skills Required**:

- Prior knowledge of network protocols
- Prior knowledge of programming
- 1. Resume

2. All Education Certificates to-date (from secondary to tertiary education)
- GCE 'O'/'N' Levels, NITEC
- Prelim/GCE 'A' Levels, IB/Diploma
- Latest university transcript from Year 1 (for current undergraduates)
