Manager/ Senior Manager, Exhibitions

**THIS IS A 2-YEARS RENEWABLE / CONVERTIBLE CONTRACT ROLE.**

As the Manager or Senior Manager of the Exhibitions Team at Defence Collective Singapore (DCS), you will lead a dynamic team of exhibition specialists in conceptualising, developing, and delivering immersive, engaging, and educational exhibition experiences across DCS’s five entities: Singapore Discovery Centre, the National Service-Themed Gallery, and the Singapore Army, Navy, and Air Force Museums.

Reporting to the Director of Exhibitions, you will spearhead the planning and execution of permanent galleries and special exhibitions that effectively communicate Singapore’s defence story and National Education themes to a wide range of audiences.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including exhibition designers, engineers, contractors, conservators, and other specialists—to ensure that all exhibitions meet high standards of design, technical precision, and visitor engagement, contributing to the delivery of meaningful and impactful experiences.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Leadership & Team Management**
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of exhibition specialists to deliver high-quality exhibitions that align with DCS’s mission.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging creativity and excellence.
- Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and team performance to meet strategic goals.

**Exhibition Development & Project Management**
- Conceptualise, plan, and execute permanent galleries, special exhibitions, and travelling showcases that create interactive and immersive experiences.
- Drive creative discussions with internal teams and external stakeholders to propose innovative exhibition concepts and design approaches.
- Oversee project lifecycles, from concept to installation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Explore new engagement strategies, incorporating digital and interactive elements, co-creation opportunities, and cross-disciplinary approaches.

**Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration**
- Work closely with leadership, internal departments, and external partners to align exhibition goals with broader organisational objectives.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with local and international institutions, vendors, and agencies for potential collaborations and knowledge exchange.
- Coordinate with designers, curators, and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of exhibition content, storytelling, and visitor experience.

**Operational & Risk Management**
- Manage procurement, funding requisitions, and compliance with government regulatory and safety requirements.
- Oversee installation and deinstallation logistics, ensuring the safe handling of large objects and sensitive artefacts.
- Ensure site safety and conduct risk assessments for exhibition setups and dismantling.
- Maintain intellectual property and physical asset integrity within all exhibition projects.

**Quality Assurance & Audience Engagement**
- Ensure high-quality deliverables from vendors and partners while safeguarding key storytelling and engagement objectives.
- Collaborate with education, digital, marketing, and programming teams to enhance audience engagement and outreach strategies.
- Develop exhibitions that are inclusive, accessible, and engaging for diverse audiences.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Exhibition Design, Multimedia Design, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in exhibition planning, architecture, or large-scale construction projects.
- Proven experience in delivering international standard exhibitions within museums, galleries, or cultural institutions.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and engineering principles related to exhibition development. Understanding of conservation standards for handling historical and sensitive artefacts.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating large-scale exhibition projects. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Rhinoceros, Revit, BIM, and other exhibition design software would be an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
