**Overview**:
The Preschool Educator effectively creates a secure and quality learning environment for the children

through nurturing trusting and respectful relationships with them. He/She enriches children’s learning by co-designing and implementing a developmentally and culturally appropriate curricula, while effectively integrating innovative teaching and learning practices. He/She is proactive and intentional in strengthening partnerships with families and the community, and co-designs collaborative efforts with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve this goal.

As an experienced Early Childhood Educator, he/she guides the junior educators in enhancing their professional practice. He/She provides suggestions, ideas to improve professional development in the

Centre, while also contributing to the Centre’s culture of collaboration and collegiality.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Plan and implement curriculum and programmes**:
a) Plan developmentally appropriate teaching, learning and caregiving activities aligned to the relevant curricula frameworks

b) Review results of learning needs assessment

c) Guide juniors in engaging children meaningfully in accordance with the curriculum and pedagogical frameworks

d) Customise classroom management strategies

e) Design quality learning environment with developmentally appropriate learning materials and resources

f) Review health, safety, nutritional and hygiene practices in accordance with standards and procedures

g) Identify potential teaching and learning methods, tools and assistive technology based on emerging trends in the sector

h) Evaluate documentations of children’s learning and development to better inform planning and teaching

**2. Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships**:
a) Execute communication strategies and policies to foster a culture of collaboration within the Centre

b) Identify opportunities to collaborate with families to ensure

**3. Manage family and community programmes**:
a) Develop outreach activities to promote the Centre programmes and services

b) Guide the execution of collaborative projects with families and community stakeholders

c) Evaluate family and community initiatives and programmes for improvements

**4. Conduct routine caregiving**:
a) Review results of caregiving assessment

b) Review caregiving in accordance with standards and procedures

c) Evaluate routine caregiving improvement opportunities

**5. Uplift professional practice**:
a) Co-develop appropriate teaching and caregiving methods based on emerging sector trends, technologies and tools

b) Analyse areas for improvements for professional practice

c) Propose improvements to professional development and service quality improvement activities

d) Promote the Centre’s vision, mission and values

**6. Others**:
**a) **Any other duties as and when assigned by the Centre Leader, Deputy Centre Leader and/or Senior Preschool Educator.**

a) Intermediate adaptability skills to manage change in evolving contexts

b) Intermediate collaboration skills to build relationships and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to create synergies in working towards shared goals

c) Intermediate communication skills to tailor communication approaches to audience needs and determine suitable methods to convey and exchange information

d) Intermediate problem-solving skills to determine underlying causes of problems and collaborate with other stakeholders to implement and evaluate solutions

e) Intermediate self-management skills to analyse own wellbeing and personal effectiveness to develop strategies to regulate self and build personal brand

a) Proficient in written and spoken English/Chinese

b) Strong multi-tasking skill

**9. Preferred achievements / characteristics**:
a) L2 certified with Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA)

b) Diploma in Early Childhood or equivalent
