RESPONSIBILITIES
**What you’ll do**
Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs, APAC. The Regional Regulatory Affairs APAC Manager is responsible for the Regulatory and Product safety compliance of DSM products and raw materials for South Korea and assigned markets across North Asia.
The incumbent is to contribute by defining & implementing the strategy regarding regulatory & safety compliance for finished products & raw materials. Ensure projects are optimized to meet regulatory requirements for successful outcomes and prioritize the team’s regulatory projects to meet the company’s business objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide support and advice to different stakeholders and departments (e.g. Regional Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, SHE, logistics, purchasing, etc.) in DSM with regard to regulatory requirements, product regulatory quality, and/or product safety for DSM products and /or raw materials.
- Manages the process of maintaining and creating regulatory information, statements, and documentation in compliance with international and country-specific legislation (e.g. product dossiers, registration certificates, food contact approval statements, Safety Data Sheets, Internal Data Sheets & workplace safety cards, GMO/BSE statements, Regulatory Data Sheets label data and classifications, Dangerous Goods classifications, worker safety or environmental risk assessments, product regulatory quality documentation, etc.)
- Monitors and communicates about changes in relevant Regulatory and/or Product Safety legislation related to product compliance and provides input on implementation and status (e.g. regarding pharma, food approval, feed approval, chemical control, chemical hazards, or dangerous goods classifications)
- Manages the process of product notifications/product approvals/product safety info /product dossier submissions to local authorities directly or via consultants
- Takes all relevant prioritization decisions on regulatory compliance and product safety in cooperation with stakeholders
- Contributes to internal external opinions on Regulatory Affairs and Product Safety, e.g. via Industry associations, DSM Networks, lobbying activities, contacts with authorities or customers, etc.
- Has the authority to disapprove product or raw material use at DSM if not compliant with DSM Corporate Requirements and /or external legislation.
- Manages the relevant internal systems, databases, and processes for ensuring regulatory (quality) and/or product safety compliance for raw materials and products
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in food sciences, natural sciences, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or related scientific disciplines
- Minimum 8 years of experience in relevant field
- Good knowledge of regulations and standards on human nutrition products (including food, and food supplements)
- Business level proficiency both written and spoken in English and Korean is required to work with internal and external stakeholders
- Good network with industry associations and regulatory bodies
- Good business acumen, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Experience working in a dynamic and matrix environment will be preferred
