**Responsibilities**
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)
- Oversees the team of RN/AN, NA/HA.
- Oversee the multidisciplinary care providers (OT/PT, Medical & Social workers) to provide quality nursing residential care for the elderly and sick residents.
- Responsible for regulatory compliances and nursing standards as stipulated by MOH and SNB.
- Leads quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
- Ensures quality audits are planned, conducted periodically and follow up with corrective improvements.
- Ensures written policies and SOP are available and up to date to guide nursing practices.
- Ensures smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and back to community, where possible.
- Ensures appropriate skill mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services.
- Directs and facilitates staff development, skills and competency upgrading through in-house training, approved online learning or formal education opportunities.
- Guides orientation/induction programmes and preceptorship for all new staff.
- Supports DON in nursing home management and deputizes her, in her absence to support the Head of Centre.
- Work closely and liaise with other Heads of Depts to ensure the smooth management of the Nursing Home.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing or Head of Centre.
Secondary Responsibilities and duties (20%)
- Promotes evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery.
- Demonstrates awareness of current nursing and health care practices.
- Assists in building nursing capabilities to support nursing home initiatives and new services.
- Monitors and analyzes trends and changing needs of residents in institutional settings.
- Counsels staff with complex issues.
**Job Requirements**
- Post-basic qualification in the relevant nursing specialty, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
