The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer is a key role in the development process, ensuring the highest quality standards for software products. The SQA Engineer works closely with development teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve software defects, while maintaining the overall quality and reliability of the product. They are responsible for creating and executing test plans, analyzing software requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to guarantee product excellence.

The SQA Engineer has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the local team, including working with Product Owners and developers to understand product requirements, participating in Agile Release Train (ART) Synch meetings, and collaborating to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and ensure quality is maintained throughout the development process
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various types of testing (functional, integration, system, and regression)
- Identify, document, and prioritize software defects and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution
- Monitor and track software quality metrics to continuously improve product quality
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software releases meet quality standards
- Provide input on software documentation, user manuals, and release notes
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software quality assurance

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

- Strong understanding of software development life cycle and Agile methodologies
- Proficient in various testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks
- Demonstrable knowledge of software quality assurance best practices and processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction
- Understanding of programming languages, software architecture, and databases
- Familiarity with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and DevOps practices

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Relevant certifications in software quality assurance, such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQA
- Agile or Scrum certifications, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM), are advantageous

Required Experience:

- Demonstrated experience in software quality assurance or software testing
- Proven experience working in Agile development environments
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks
- Familiarity with various software testing types, such as functional, integration, system, and regression testing
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software products
- Knowledge of performance, security, and usability testing is a plus
