Hosted Services Infrastructure Engineer

The Hosted Services Infrastructure Engineer role plays a key role in the maintenance and

development of Over the Wire’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform, working closely in

conjunction with other Hosted Services Infrastructure Engineers, as well as the Network, Managed

Services and Provisioning teams.

The role includes project work such as key implementation functions in platform expansions,

onboarding project work and design and architecture input on scaling platforms, and dealing with

escalations and mentorship of more junior staff.

Primary Job Accountabilities
- Capacity planning and preparation
- Design and architecture of systems and storage for scaling
- Monitoring and maintenance of VMware infrastructure, including VMware Cloud Director,

vCenter, NSX
- Monitoring and maintenance of server systems including Cisco UCS and Dell PowerEdge
- Monitoring and maintenance of storage systems including DellEMC Unity, DellEMC

Compellant and Netapp
- Backups and replication, primarily using Veeam
- Some out of hours work from time to time as required by project/on-call arrangements

**Required Skills**:

- Minimum 8 years experience in the industry
- Attention to detail
- Ability to create, manage and resolve incidents/request accurately
- Adaptive and able to work under pressure, manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
- Excellent problem analysis and problem solving skills
- Extensive experience with virtualisation technologies (primarily VMware vCenter, VMware

Cloud Director, NSX highly desirable)
- Extensive experience with storage systems (DellEMC Unity and Netapp in particular)
- Experience with Cisco UCS
- Experience with backup systems
