Grocery Logistics Singapore (GLS) a wholly owned subsidiary of FairPrice Group Supply Chain, is a well-established logistics player in the Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) segment, incorporated since January 1993. Other than being the key logistics provider for NTUC FairPrice and its subsidiaries, we had serviced the Dairy Farm Group, Royal Ahold Group (since exited from Singapore Markets) and many small supermarket chains since our establishment.

DESIGNATION : Head of Automation Management

RESPONSIBILITIES

**Job Purpose**

The role which is part of the Supply Chain Development & Analytics department will be responsible for planning, designing, leading the development and delivery of the FPG Supply Chain BU’s automation strategies and programs. This also includes leveraging and improving existing automation capabilities, as well as directing and developing a team of automation and maintenance personnel.

**Responsibilities**
- Be the Automation SME for matters in relation to any focused solutioning of product(s).
- Review automation framework design, provide recommendations and act as a constructive partner in technical discussions.
- Drive consistent updates with clear communication to provide oversight and visibility on all activities and performance results, including reporting, critical issues, proactive mitigation plans and continuous improvement ideas.
- Collaborate with automation partners on continuous improvement, product development, innovation opportunities, and expanded use cases.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and protocols relevant to warehouse automation systems and able to develop and enforce safety procedures and practices for the team.
- Review contractual commitments and service agreements, leverages financial data to evaluate automation and systems including vendors’ performance.
- Motivate and provide effective communication, direction, drive team cohesion and guidance to maintenance technicians and engineers who are managing technical work activities.
- Provide training and skill development opportunities for maintenance personnel to ensure they stay updated on new technologies and best practices.
- Drive a culture of innovation and change management through leading cross-functional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

**Key Skills/Competencies Required**
- At least 13 years of working experience in Engineering and Automation Management
- Minimum 7 years’ professional and leadership experience in Logistics, warehousing or 3PL industries, preferably in an international logistics service environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering / Automation and Mechatronics Engineering / Logistics Engineering or any other related profession.
- Experience in modern warehouse and distribution, supply chain design (automation and other modern warehousing innovation (robotics, digitalization) is preferred.
- Extensive technical acumen in the field of warehouse automation including automation design, implementation and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of the development of test automation frameworks.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen to adopt a holistic perspective when making plans and implementing automation strategies.
- Experience in product management with the ability to integrate technical solutions into an operational environment to ensure a sustainable solution.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical solutions, to drive achievement of objectives and collaborate effectively with senior management and across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical mindset and skills, with the ability convert analysis into business insights for decision making.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and has effective change management skills.
- Direct people management experience with ability to recognize, motivate and develop talents.
- Agile, resilience and able to adapt effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
