Research Analyst, Fuel Oil and Feedstocks

**Purpose**

Energy Aspects continues with the expansion of our world class research team and an exciting opportunity exists for an analyst to join our global refined products team. This is a great opportunity to join a team as it embarks on a major expansion. You will have prior commercial experience of covering commodity markets, ideally oil with a global perspective, or in a similar analytical position, enabling you to quickly take on a range of responsibilities.

The position will be responsible for preparing or contributing to many of our publications, from regular reports and market alerts to in-depth reports on particular themes. This will involve you carrying out a comprehensive analysis of relevant information and drawing out the most relevant trends. Our clients value our views and insights, so you will be helping to shape forward-looking views and not just historical analysis.

You will be expected to consistently produce work at a high enough standard to send out to our demanding client base. We pride ourselves on our end product. We are meticulous about formatting and maintaining a high standard of accuracy across our services.

This position will require flexibility and the drive to go beyond the core hours when needed, ensuring we all fulfil our goals. **Duties**
- Preparing or contributing to many of our research publications.
- Maintaining and enhancing global oil products balances.
- Modelling market data and scenarios.
- presenting our views to clients and media as required.
- Experience analyzing commodity markets, preferably in the oil products sector, or closely related analytical role.
- Strong Excel and modelling skills.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with others, including colleagues in different time zones, to deliver timely analysis.
- Attention to detail in both handling data and written English.

**Requirements**:
Desirable skills
- Exposure to SQL Database (from writing queries through to building databases).
- Experience modelling in R, Python, MATLAB and/or EViews.
