Gold Beater

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Beating gold into ultra-thin sheets (gold leaf) using a traditional hammering process or modern machinery.
- Ensuring the gold is evenly beaten to the correct thickness for its intended use.
- Preparing the gold by melting and shaping it into small ingots or blocks, before beginning the beating process.
- Carefully monitoring the thickness of the gold sheets, which typically range from 0.0001 to 0.005 millimetres.
- Regularly inspect the beaten gold for any flaws, such as tears, holes, or unevenness.
- Create jewellery from gold, silver, and precious gemstones
- Make a model with carved wax or with computer-aided design, and then cast pieces with the model
- Examine and grade diamonds and other gems
- Clean and polish jewellery using polishing wheels and chemical baths
- Compute the costs of labour and material for new pieces and repair
- Adhere to all applicable safety and health regulations pertaining to ergonomics, quality control, protective gear, hazardous materials handling or disposal, etc.
- Maintain consistency in the thickness and smoothness of the gold sheets to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from debris to maintain safety and efficiency.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must have atleat 5 years experience as Gold beater
- Should be able to work in a team and give an individual contribution towards the creative ideas
- Should be Innovative and should be updated to the latest trends
- Must have high level of dexterity and attention, as the gold is very thin and easily torn or bent.
- Must need to focus on minute details, ensuring that gold sheets are uniformly thin and free from imperfections.
- Must be well organized and driven to meet customer deadlines
- Creative thinking and vision, to produce new ideas
- Highly developed design skills and thorough manufacturing knowledge of jewellery techniques
- Should be able to understand the concepts of clients’ requirement
- Should be able to use tools safely and smoothly to prevent injury.
- Must have class 2A/2B/3 licence.
- Willing to do rotating shift work. Must work on weekends/PH. (Strictly off on week days)
- Able to multi-task, meet timeline and work under pressure
- Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines when required
- Possess good communication & time management skills
