Senior Technical Manager

**Job Role**
- The Senior Technical Manager or Technical Advisor is responsible for Data Centre project management of Safety, Quality, Schedule, Budget, and Contract. Communication, reporting, and attending regular meetings with the Japanese parent company and client who is USA based, requires proficiency and knowledge of both Japanese and English languages as well as excellent presentation skills.
- He/She manages the execution of Data Centre construction operations and validates the construction, installation and assembly of components, equipment and systems and completion of activities.
- Lead, direct, oversee, manage, and intervene as necessary with all internal and external project stakeholders.
- Contribute strategic insight, experience, and expertise to the project management and construction team through his/her skills and knowledge of Data Centre construction and execution to set up the project for success.
- Ensure that progress and key project issues are assessed, managed, and reported to the board of directors from Singapore Regional Group of Companies as well as the parent company in Japan on a regular and timely basis.
- Manage and oversee the project team including external project managers, design consultants and contractors to meet their deliverables, to an adequate standard, on time and not compromise the project specifications. Be responsible for tracking, recording, and managing the progress and quality of the construction along with handover and closeout deliverables.
- Proactively ensure all commercial, contractual and procurement activities on the projects are managed in a timely and transparent manner and avoid any cost and time risk to the Projects. Closely monitor, manage, and report on project budgets.
- Identify all statutory approvals needed and thereafter manage and achieve as scheduled to avoid any delay to the projects. Ensure the company's EHS policies and project-specific plans are proactively communicated and consistently enforced. Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks throughout all phases of the project.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with all project stakeholders - upstream and downstream on relevant topics.
- Manage project documentation by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) standards.
- Other project management duties assigned

**Job Requirements**
- Degree in Building Construction Management, Civil and/or Structural Engineering, building discipline or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in managing large (>$150m), fast-track, high-rise buildings projects with at least 5 years of project management working experience at a corporate level.
- An understanding of Data Center projects and prior hands-on experience are essential.
- Some shareholders and board members of the company are based in Japan, so Japanese language proficiency at level N1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is a minimum requirement to conduct business, as well as prepare reports and presentations that may be required by the company's management, board, or stakeholders. Similar English skills and knowledge preferred.
- Good experience working with US clients is an added competitive advantage.
- Due to the client's headquarters location in the USA and the parent company being based in Japan, must be able to travel to USA and Japan at times when necessary.
- Excellent leadership, time management, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in managing and motivating diverse, multi-functional, multi-cultural project teams. Organised, with a positive work attitude.
- Able to implement Construction Project Management good practices.
