Overview:
The SVP, Franchise Region Lead, Asia-Pacific (AP) will be the strategic lead with responsibility for the full suite of franchise functions for the AP business and will be tasked with providing thought leadership and driving enhancements around franchise life cycle management to support positive and innovative client experiences and enable business growth for both Mastercard and its customers. This role will jointly report into the Chief Franchise Officer and the General Counsel of Asia-Pacific being accountable for enabling new and existing business at scale through licensing, registration, brand standards and exploring new ways to leverage our brands and network. In addition, this leader will have full accountability for supporting healthy business growth by preventing, detecting, and remediating undue risk.

Role:

- Lead regional efforts to evolve and implement new thinking around emerging and existing payment flows, customers, activity, operational content, and requirements
- Define franchise management strategies that retain and grow Mastercard's customer base across AP and preserve integrity of the brand and network
- Anticipate business needs and figure out how franchise can creatively problem-solve to enable business strategy and execution, including with thoughtful risk mitigation, such as fraud management and management of ADC events
- Key focus on customer relationship management, creative issue resolution and driving cross-functional collaboration to help implement and support key strategic initiatives
- Member of both global Franchise Management Team and AP General Counsel Leadership Teams
- Responsible for ensuring Franchise drivers are embedded in our business across AP, regional objectives and strategy development efforts. Participate in AP Product Management Excellence Peer reviews and product development lifecycle to ensure Franchise matters are considered and implemented
- Define standards, requirements and outcomes and ensure regional/global strategic alignment of new and existing rules and strategies to drive long-term business growth and preserve the value and integrity of Mastercard's brand
- Own and lead initiatives to address fraud vulnerabilities and events in a timely manner. Interface with colleagues throughout the organization at all levels to address critical care issues promptly
- Develop and lead AP Franchise team, conduct goal-setting and performance appraisal, coach and develop employees as an organizational resource

Identify, assess and evaluate the talent needed to drive AP Franchise Business Objectives
- Responsible for developing and delivering regional Franchise communications utilizing internal/external communication, education, and thought leadership.
- Lead support for all Franchise-related trainings, customer conferences and advisory councils. Represent Franchise at various industry bodies, industry meetings and when applicable, with relevant law enforcement agencies and regulators
- Provide intelligence on latest licensing, standards and fraud trends
- Accountable for identifying and increasing process efficiency and enabling scale by leveraging automation/technology
