**Direct Search Global is working with a SGX listed Maritime company to fill the role of Senior Accountant (General Ledger) in Singapore. The office location is in the Tuas area.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the punctual completion of the month-end close process, guaranteeing the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting with group policies and regulatory standards.
- Maintain financial ledgers, manage accounting schedules, and conduct bank reconciliations.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax and other statutory returns to government authorities.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and accomplish assigned financial tasks.
- Provide support for internal and statutory audits, ensuring their timely completion and responding to identified issues and recommendations.
- Actively assess and recommend measures for continuous improvement in internal controls and business processes.
- Support various improvement initiatives and ad-hoc activities as required.

**Job Requirements**:

- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Prior exposure to trading/manufacturing operations.
- A degree in Accountancy or an equivalent qualification with relevant professional certifications (ACCA/CPA).
- Strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge under Singapore GAAP and IFRS.
- Familiarity with SGX reporting and compliance requirements is an added advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience with SAP and other reporting software, such as SIGMA, COGNOS, and HYPERION.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and navigate a dynamic work environment.
