**Job Responsibilities:
The Consultant / Assistant Consultant reports to the Director of Consultancy and assists him as part of a team of consultants to manage / implement projects in relation to emergency response and fire safety. The key responsibilities are:
1) Consultancy, Training and Event Management Projects
- Establish contacts with and market services to clients
- Discuss with clients on specific requirements and develop project proposals
- Arrange for project contracts to be signed with clients

2) Project Management and Implementation
- Discuss with clients to detail project schedule and deliverables
- Organise administrative work, manpower resources, budgetary requirements and logístical arrangements for projects
- Execute projects in accordance with the project schedule, deliverables and budget

3) Post-Project Activities
- Draft post-project reports to detail findings and recommendations
- Discuss with clients to propose follow-up services
- Ensure full payment for services rendered
- Maintain good relations with clients

**Job Prerequisites and Competencies:
The prerequisites and competencies expected of a Consultant / Assistant Consultant are:

- Have experience in planning and conducting audits / exercises / courses / conferences / workshops / events
- Possess strong analytical, writing and presentation skills
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess good time and resource management abilities
- Preferably to have an understanding of the national emergency response and fire safety frameworks, issues and requirements
- Preferably to be an ex-SCDF Officer with specialisation in USAR / Hazmat
- Preferably to have at least 5 years working experience
