**Accelerating Asia’s Energy Transition**
Tara Climate is a new and rapidly expanding philanthropic initiative focusing on South, Southeast, and East Asia (excluding China and India). With a vision of a just and thriving Asia powered by renewable energy, Tara Climate plays a vital role in developing and growing the climate ecosystem across the region, through supporting think tanks, civil society, research organizations and other non-state actors to accelerate Asia’s energy transformation. Previously an initiative under the European Climate Foundation (ECF), Tara became an independent regional foundation at the end of 2021 with full backing of the ECF and more than a dozen global philanthropic foundations.
A regionally-led and regionally-based foundation, Tara is comprised of local leadership and experts, with strong networks and a deep understanding of the complexity and influence levers of the Asia region. Tara is now seeking to build its non-executive Board, by adding local and regional leaders to build on its success and help guide the path forward. Members of the Board will contribute to the development and impact of Tara through shaping and guiding the organisational strategy, monitoring progress, and ensuring that it pursues its stated objectives with humility and courage.
Trustees are expected to dedicate a minimum of 12 days a year to their Board responsibilities.
