**The Role**:
**What’s the role?**

This role will be based in Shell Energy & Chemicals Park Singapore
- Pulau Bukom.

The Marine Officer is responsible for providing maritime technical advice and support on:

- Implementation of the Maritime Process Model and compliance with the HSSE Control Framework with particular emphasis on the Transport Manual - Maritime Safety.
- Maritime and shipboard related operations including commercial issues.
- Marine and oil pollution response.
- Marine oil loss processes (cargo expediting, marine oil loss investigation, independent Cargo Inspectors audits, etc.).
- Standards for shipping and maritime operations, Industry guidelines, rules and regulations.
- Performing tasks of Downstream Maritime Safety Authorised Person (AP) for the following area as appropriate:

- port and berth assurance
- vessel quality assurance
- maritime contractor management
- HSSE management of maritime personnel transport & transfer facilities
- effective management of maritime HSSE risk
- maritime incident investigation
- Performing tasks of Authorised Person (AP) for diving activities within Bukom Manufacturing site and other Shell Singapore site.
- Safe execution of Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) operation and maintenance.
- Maintaining and ensuring proper functioning of navigational aids.
- Performing emergency response duties as required by the site Emergency Response Plan and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Driving and / or supporting short and long-term improvement plans for maritime assurance, operations, and assets.
- Effective management of Process Safety risk including compliance to 9 Process Safety Fundamentals.
- Compliance to Ensure Safe Process (ESP) and other Downstream Manufacturing (DSM) processes to ensure safe and reliable operation and asset integrity.
- Carry out Duty Marine Officer (DMO) function and as per roster provide maritime technical expertise and support during office and non-office hours.

**What we need from you**

We are keen to speak to professionals with the following:

- Class 1 Certificate of Competency, Master Mariner (foreign going, unlimited) issued under the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers.
- Proven sailing experience in management capacity (Senior Officer) on foreign going oil tankers and terminal operations.
- Experience on crude/ chemical/ gas carriers will be an advantage.
- Experience in vessel assurance, terminal assurance and upstream assurance/ operations will be an advantage skill.
- Knowledge in Regulatory requirements and Industry (OCIMF, SIGTTO, ICS, PIANC, etc.) standards for shipping and maritime operations.
- Strong and proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong in analytical problem solving and troubleshooting. Resilient under pressure with decisive decision-making skills.
- Self-motivated, mature professional with ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Strong sense-making and persuading skills; motivate, influence, coach and guide subordinates always remaining accountable to the team’s deliverables.
- Clearly connect contribution of all activities towards achievement of business plan and strategy.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in English language both written and oral.
