[What the role is]

The Carbon Planning Division (CPD) develops strategies and initiatives to drive the ICC framework, supports the implementation of cross-border carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects as a national decarbonisation pathway, and the international acceptance of new mitigation measures (including the carbon accounting methodologies) to meet our climate targets

**[What you will be working on]**

You will be involved in developing and implementing initiatives under the ICC framework and support the implementation of cross-border CCS projects. Your duties will include the following:

- Develop and review the ICC framework in line with international standards and best practices to ensure carbon credits are of high environmental integrity
- Monitor and build capability in carbon crediting methodologies
- Administer authorisation and assessment of carbon crediting projects under Singapore’s Implementation Agreements and support negotiations with host countries on the eligibility list of carbon crediting programmes and methodologies
- Participate in bilateral negotiations on the proper accounting of carbon captured, transported and stored for CCS
- Develop strong international networks with environmental authorities in CCS regulation and development
- Monitor and build capability on CCS, and new mitigation measures such as direct air capture and ocean carbon dioxide removal

**[What we are looking for]**
- At least 2 years of work experience in the carbon and sustainability field, or chemical process sector
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Resourceful, self-driven and able to work independently.
- Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel.
- Willing to travel overseas for International/regional meetings
