Singapore SOMPO HOLDINGS (ASIA) PTE. LTD. Full time

This position will report to the Chief Consumer Officer for Sompo Asia and work closely with other regional distribution and technical functions to develop and execute a sound business development strategy over the next few years.

**Key Job Responsibilities**
- Support the local country and regional management to identify, develop and execute a profitable accident and health insurance strategy in the key Asian markets.
- Build and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas of collaboration, develop new markets and identify opportunities to expand the customer base and increase revenues and profitability for health insurance in Asia Pacific.
- Improve the underwriting margin of existing health insurance portfolios by encouraging countries to develop efficient and reliable health operations infrastructure and portfolio management capabilities and to use value-added services wherever possible.
- Work closely with distribution to explore new business opportunities, product innovation per the changing demographics, and government initiatives for both consumer and corporate segments.
- Develop and implement appropriate risk management measures such as UW guidelines, product development process, portfolio management tools etc. to ensure profitable portfolio growth.
- Work closely with technology teams to identify possible use of emerging digital technologies to drive efficiency, improve customer services and create a scalable operation.
- Assess and analyze market trends in health insurance across the region and regularly update senior management on portfolio performance and emerging headwinds/opportunities.
- Work closely with the existing provider of International Private Medical Insurance for Sompo to ensure proper governance and work closely with local entities to upsell and cross sell other supplementary A&H products to expand the business.

**Knowledge and Skills Required**
- 15+ years of experience in A&H especially in the health insurance industry at senior level.
- A complete understanding of the value chain of product development, operations, claims, business development, and health insurance sales is necessary. Strong technical knowledge of product development, UW will be added advantage.
- Experience in leading and working in cross-border and multi-cultural teams will be beneficial.
- Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills will be required to influence and persuade key senior stakeholders effectively.
- Broader insurance market knowledge of various key Asian markets will provide a head start in the role.
