Lighting Draftsman

The Draftsman is responsible for producing accurate technical drawings, documentation, and visualizations to support the design and execution of lighting solutions projects. This role ensures that all layouts, calculations, and technical details align with project requirements, safety standards, and company quality guidelines while supporting internal teams across the sales and project lifecycle.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Drawing & Design Development**
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for lighting layouts, shop drawings, and as-built documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Translate lighting design concepts into accurate technical drawings that align with project and client requirements.
- Conduct lighting calculations and simulations using Dialux to ensure compliance with technical specifications and efficiency targets.
- Revise and update drawings based on design changes, internal feedback, and site conditions.

**2. Technical Documentation**
- Produce accurate technical documentation, including lighting layouts, reflected ceiling plans, and M&E coordination drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry codes, safety standards, and client specifications.
- Prepare drawing packages and documentation to support tender submissions, project proposals, and material approvals.

**3. Project Coordination Support**
- Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure drawings meet installation and functional requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical discrepancies in drawings.
- Provide updated drawings and technical support during project execution, installation, and handover stages.

**4. Quality & Compliance Control**
- Ensure all drawings follow company drafting standards, including correct use of layers, scales, and symbols.
- Maintain version control and records of revisions, approvals, and issued drawings.
- Verify that layouts and calculations adhere to lighting standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.

**5. Resource & Database Management**
- Maintain and update a centralized library of lighting fixture families, CAD blocks, and standard templates.
- Keep BIM models and Dialux databases current with the latest product specifications.
- Standardize resources across projects to drive efficiency and consistency.

**6. Innovation & Visualization**
- Develop 3D visualizations and renderings to help internal teams showcase lighting concepts and design intent.
- Explore and adopt new visualization tools (e.g., Revit rendering, Dialux Evo presentations) to improve communication of design ideas.
- Support the creation of mock-ups and prototype layouts to facilitate internal reviews and approvals.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Architectural Drafting, Engineering Design, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Dialux is required; experience with other visualization/rendering tools is an advantage.
- 1-3 years of drafting experience, preferably in lighting, M&E, or construction-related industries (fresh graduates with strong portfolios may be considered).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to producing high-quality drawings.
- Good understanding of lighting design principles, technical standards, and M&E coordination basics.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
