Standard BioTools is looking for **Engineering Assistant (Maintenance)
**Job responsibilities
Support equipment maintenance and performance improvement activities in the Integrated Fluidic Circuit (IFC) manufacturing line. This position requires the ability to work in a team environment, high level of initiative and willingness to understudy and handle a diverse range of equipment used in the IFC assembly line. The scope covers all operations from store through chip fabrication to shipping.

**Duties Include**:

- **SUPPORT MANUFACTURING OUTPUT AND PERFOFRMANCE **; Respond and assist manufacturing in achieving

manufacturing output, yield, cost and cycle time.
- **REPAIR, PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE AND CALIBRATION **; Respond promptly with a sense of urgency when

equipment is down or need maintenance. Take proactive initiative to implement action to prevent recurrence of

critical problem. Perform preventive maintenance and calibration per requirements. Manage critical spare

inventory. Review frequency of equipment downtime and identify opportunity for improvements.
- **NEW PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT **; Support department responsible for installation and buy-off of equipment.

Track equipment performance during buyoff. Identify manufacturing needs and equipment readiness, initiate

necessary actions. Track, escalate performance issue and communicate progress.
- **SKILLS WITH CUSTOM PROCESSES AND EQUIPMENTS **; Able to operate and set-up custom processes and

equipment. Able to trouble shoot equipment and manufacturing line issues.
- **EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE**
- Maintain and improves reports necessary to measure equipment performance (Overall Equipment

Effectiveness, OEE and Total Effective Equipment Performance, TEPP).
- Work with manufacturing supervisor and manager responsible for identify and implementing manufacturing

strategies.
- **MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN SET-UP AND BASIC PROBLEM RECOVERY JOB TRAINING **; Support training

and documentation system defined by manager and HR. Train manufacturing technician on equipment setup

and conversion, basic problem recovery and basic equipment cleanness.
- **COMPLIANCE TO QUALITY SYSTEM **; Ensure maintenance compliance to quality systems;
- Identification of procedure discrepancies and specification deviations.
- Accurate and complete record keeping and procedure update.
- Preventive maintenance (PM), calibration and downtime report.
- Effective execution and record keeping of stipulated process controls and quality checks (preventive

maintenance and calibration).
- Support implementation of quality system.
- **TOOL AND FIXTURE **; Initiate new orders, design improvements, repair, support needs for new requirements

and manufacturing run-rate increase.
- **HOUSEKEEPING AND SAFETY **; Responsible for good housekeeping and safety of maintenance work area. Assist

manufacturing in equipment and work area housekeeping such as organization of cables, pipes, and

maintaining good equipment conditions. Good housekeeping after repair or task is completed.
- **IDENTIFY AND INITIATE IMPROVEMENTS **; Initiate and execute improvements in equipment set-up, repairs,

maintenance and preventive maintenance (to achieve higher OEE, lower cost, shorter cycle time, better yield,

better workforce skills, higher output and good quality and compliance to quality system, safety & health

requirements).

Identify needs, collect data, conduct experiment and assessment, and make recommendation, plan

implementation and follow-up effective implementation.
- **OTHERS **; Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

**Qualifications Include**:

- Diploma or equivalent in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Willing to learn and ability to acquire multi-skills set to handle different processes & tasks.
- Hardworking and possess high level of initiative and self-motivation.
- Willing to work in a cleanroom environment & on rotating shifts
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Hands-on with experience in equipment troubleshooting & repairs
