Boatman and Environmental Surveyor Assistant

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate and navigate boats for marine surveys, ensuring the safety of all personnel and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of boats to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with environmental surveys in both marine and terrestrial environments.
- Collect, record, and manage environmental data, including water quality, sediment quality, and habitat assessments.
- Operate and maintain surveying instruments such as GPS, and other environmental monitoring equipment.
- Help in setting up and preparing survey equipment and tools for both marine and land surveys.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental protocols.
- Collaborate with surveyors and scientists to analyze and interpret survey data.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience as a Boatman and/or Environmental Surveyor Assistant is preferred.
- Valid harbour craft license and relevant certifications.
- Knowledge of environmental survey techniques, including both marine and land-based methods.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately record data.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, both on water and land.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
- Driving license is preferable for transporting equipment and accessing remote survey sites.
