**About the role - you will**:
We are seeking highly talented, enthusiastic engineer to solve these challenging problems in building distributed storage and compute platforms that enables modern workload. The focus is highly scalable and high-performance distributed storage systems. You will have the opportunity to work on, contribute to these technologies which include:

- Storage System: Ceph, MinIo, Lustre. HDFS, DAOS and more
- Container-Orchestrator: Kubernetes, Helm-Chart
- IaC (Infrastructure as Code) Tools: Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus (Monitoring)
- Programming Languages: Golang, C, C++, Python, Javascript and more.
- Techniques for: high availability, data resiliency, data structure efficiency, thread concurrency and locking optimization and process coordination, granular monitoring and metering resource usage.

**About you**:

- Motivated to solve challenging problems in building distributed storage and compute platforms.
- Passionate about finding out what’s behind-the-hood of these system which massive scale system.
- Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possess good working proficiency communication skills, verbal and written.

**Your experience includes**:

- You should have good knowledge of Linux and Linux Kernel:

- Are strong in programming in at least 2 of the following programming languages
- C & C++, Golang, Python
- Good understanding of networking
- Have prior working experience with git, github, jira, bitbucket, Jenkins and equivalent

**You might also have**:

- Prior Experience in Object Storage Ceph, MinIo and S3 REST API
- Knowledge of one or more of these distributed parallel filesystems, JuiceFs, Alluxio, Lustre, or an equivalent
- Contributed or contributing to Open-sourced Project

**Location**:
The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass-transportation to work. Ample free on-site parking is also available. Being a purpose-built building, The Shugart has excellent employee recreational facilities. Take an active break at our badminton courts, table tennis tables, in-house gym and recreation rooms. Our yoga and zumba classes are very popular. We also offer classes and interest groups in photography, gardening, and foreign languages, and have various on-site celebrations, and community volunteer opportunities.
