Apex Fitness Center Supervisor

**Overview**

The APEx is Singapore American School’s on-campus fitness center, Singapore American School is seeking one or more part-time Supervisor(s) to oversee the operations of this Fitness Center outside of school hours. The APEx includes machine weights, free weights and cardio equipment.

The Fitness Center Supervisor enforces the policies and procedures of the APEx, addresses any building/equipment issues, as well as encourages the health and wellness of all users who may be students, employees and/or community members.

The Fitness Center Supervisor must be a productive team player with varied expertise in the area of health and wellness. This position is primarily responsible for providing a positive presence in APEx in support of the health, wellness and fitness programs of the community.

**Contract and hours of work**

The work schedule will be up to 35 hours a week, from 3pm to 8pm from Mondays to Fridays, and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays. The Fitness Center Supervisor(s) are expected to maintain a regular rota covering these hours. There will be occasional additional hours available. This role will be paid at an hourly rate.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
The APEx Fitness Center Supervisor should be a highly motivated team-player with the ability to deliver interactive customer service, develop and maintain collaborative relationships, communicate effectively, as well as proactively solve problems.

The Supervisor must also demonstrate the ability to work well with students and employees at all levels within a diverse, multicultural, collaborative environment.
- Oversee the use, care, operation, maintenance, and record-keeping of all fitness equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
- proactively seek out and undertaking administrative tasks
- design and promote activities to meet community demand
- Manage enquiries, complaints and emergencies

**Responsibilities**:

- Represent the school and Eagle Activities & Athletics department to the public, parents and students with a positive, relaxed, respectful disposition
- Provides support to the EAA Coordinator, APEx Staff and Activities/Athletic Directors.
- Maintain all records, correspondence, etc. in a well-organized and accessible manner.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all personnel matters.
- Collects and records member forms
- Design booklets and programs for all events
- Support with APEx facility bookings
- Publish facility booking requests into venue-specific Google calendars.
- Maintains supplies for APEx
- Prepare the weekly schedule of the facility
- Assist with work requests and work orders for the department.
- Provides “Lost & Found” services in the office.
- Liaises with the IT Department for tech needs for activities.
- Liaises with the Facilities Department for set-up custodial services.
- Ensures compliance with all school’s policies and procedures as related to the job responsibilities of this position.
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned by the EAA Coordinator and Activities/Athletic Directors.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Diploma of Fitness, Strength and Conditioning or equivalent
- Singapore Strength and Conditioning
- CrossFit L1, TRX, SWF, etc
- Excellent organizational and management skills.
- Demonstrates competence in managing a database and student/fitness records
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and priorities concurrently.
- Good English communication skills, both written and oral.
- Positive work attitude and initiative.
- Ability to work cooperatively and provide assistance as necessary to other team members.
