We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Vice President, Distribution Compliance Advisory - Insurance.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- The job holder will sit in the Second Line of Défense and be the Subject Matter Expert in all regulatory requirements concerning market conduct matters that cut across product lines including Life, Health and General Insurance
- This will also mean that the incumbent is familiar with the requirements in FAA, FAR and relevant MAS & LIA notices
- The job holder is required to work closely with business to provide compliance advisory on market conduct matters and advice will need to be provided with respect to the HSBC Group global standards as well
- Require job holder to have deep understanding of the market conduct requirements specific to insurance business and the Tied Agency/FA business models for sound advice to be provided to support business objectives
- Working as a team, the job holder is required to provide day to day support to various areas that required compliance advisory on all market conduct matters
- Reviewing of consultation papers from both regulators and industry bodies, and implementation of the requirements when they are affected as regulatory notices and undertakings
- The Job holder is required to update and keep relevant functional policies and procedures updated from time to time
- The job holder is also required to assist the Team lead in preparing data and information for submission to the management or regulator as and when is required
- The job holder needs to manage the governance around marketing materials and advertisements and ensure that they meet regulatory and HSBC compliance policy requirement
- Conduct due diligence at onboarding and on a periodic basis for third party licensed intermediaries (IFA, Brokers, Banks etc.,) and handle related advisory involving MAS/HSBC compliance requirements
- The Job holder is expected to advise business on cross border regulatory requirements (and recommend controls) for offshore clients/ business and transactions involving a Singapore issued life/health insurance policy taking into consideration HSBCs policies around cross border sales and also liaise with legal and other HSBC compliance teams in different markets to assess feasibility of such sales

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Experienced compliance practioner in the insurance industry are preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements/expectations under the FAA, SFA, Fair Dealing guidelines and the associated notices issued, including those issued by LIA with regard to life and health insurance businesses on the market conduct requirements, will be crucial in this role
- Self-driven with a strong eye on details, perseverance in meeting goals set, analytical mind, strong communication and inter-personal skills, are attributes required for the success of this role
