**Job Summary**
- Oversee the community relations functions of the organisation, which include public relations; volunteer management; fundraising; and, any other community relations work as directed by the Executive Director.
- Provide exemplary leadership and manage a team of community relations staff to ensure the effective delivery of public relations, volunteer management and fundraising functions.
- Ensure that community relations staff work as a team, and their well-being are looked into. This is in view of the challenging nature of community relations work that will involve staff working outside of normal office hours and on weekends.

Public Relations
- Formulate and implement the overall communication strategies and engagement programmes for the organisation.
- Oversee and co-ordinate the regular in-house publications and collaterals such as Newsletters and Annual Reports; ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of the organisation’s website to ensure it is updated at all times.
- Oversee the management of social media platforms to ensure that regular postings are well-planned and scheduled; and, messaging meets strategic organisational needs.
- Develop, plan and execute community events (talks, seminars, workshops, festive events) that reach out to the immediate community (which can include staff, clients and those within the immediate vicinity of the organisation’s premises). This includes overseeing the logístical requirements, pre-event communications and briefings to ensure positive outcomes.

Volunteer Management
- Work together with community relations staff to plan, develop and organise volunteer-driven programmes and services that complements the organisation’s domain work.
- Collaborate with staff from other departments for their inputs and ideas in the planning, development and organising of complementary volunteer-driven programmes and services.
- Oversee the proper management of volunteers and volunteer-driven programmes and services, ensuring that volunteers are managed with respect and valued as human capital of the organisation.
- Evaluate, review and enhance volunteer management and volunteer-driven programmes and services; ensuring positive outcomes, for both volunteers and clients.
- Build up the volunteer pool which will include corporate as well as individual volunteers; matching them to suitable volunteer-driven programmes and services; and, working with volunteers to be engaged with the organisation on a longer-term basis.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify suitable opportunities for corporate companies and organisations to be involved with the organisation’s work in the community. These involvements may include volunteer-driven programmes, services as well as fundraising.

Fundraising
- Work together with the Board and Fundraising Committee, to plan, organise and execute all fundraising activities that are approved by the Board and/or directed by the Executive Director.
- Identify fundraising opportunities and work with Executive Director and community relations staff on these opportunities.
- Serve a liaison person between the Board’s Fundraising Committee and the organisation’s staff on major fundraising activities.
- Provide regular updates on donations to Executive Director and/or Board.
- Ensure that fundraising collaterals are updated and deployed on a regular basis.

Creativity Team
- Oversee the process of digitalisation of work-related content such as curriculum content and teaching aids for Literacy and Student Care Centres, as well as facilitating digital approaches in various areas of work across Epworth.
- Oversee the facilitation of digital work in the social media arena and other activities on various IT platforms.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor/Diploma in Mass Communication/Business with at least 5 to 7 years’ relevant experience, including 3 years of managing a team.
- Familiarity with public education, event management and project stakeholder engagement.
- Good understanding of the social service and/or non-profit sector.
- Strong interest in community work, with a customer service orientation and good stakeholder awareness.
- Self-starter, able to work outside office hours on occasion.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Ability to think and work independently.
- A good team player.
- Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good project management, planning and organisation skills.
- Ability to create and edit written and visual content effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy with ability to be adaptable and meet tight deadlines.
