1. Provide Calibration and Measurement Services

a. Calibration of clients? instruments

b. Provide training & consultancy services to clients

c. Provide measurement solutions for industrial projects

d. Development new metrological capabilities & services based on emerging/changing industrial needs

e. Manage technical enquires

2. Measurement Standards Related Works

a. Development of new measurement standards for measurement traceability

b. Maintain measurement standard values for traceability and dissemination to industries

c. Make improvements to existing measurement systems e.g., automation, digitalization, software and hardware integration of measurement systems etc.

d. Perform international comparison of measurement standards for international recognition

e. Perform metrological and measurement related R&D activities for improvement of measurement standards or to provide measurement solutions for industry

f. Involvement in international technical metrology work

3. Quality System Related Works

a. Maintain laboratory operations to fulfil the center?s quality system?s requirements

b. Organise & perform proficiency testing, inter-laboratory comparison of measurement standards for dissemination of measurement traceability

c. Conduct laboratory assessment for assessing technical competency of local laboratories

4. Staff Development

a. Provide technical guidance to junior staff

b. Manage junior staff development

c. Manage student?s attachments for project work

5. Others

a. Involvement in center-wide initiatives and activities e.g. committees, task force, working groups, organise conferences etc.

b. Involvement in A-STAR wide activities e.g. corporate committees etc.

Job Requirements

Qualification & Field of Study

Degree in mechanical, electro-mechanical engineering, physics, science, computer engineering, or metrology related fields

Min. Years of Experience

Fresh graduates or has 1-2 years or more of relevant work experience

Other Requirements (e.g. Skills, Competencies)

Experience, knowledge and skills in following fields is advantages:
1. Software programming & interfacing

2. Instrument automation, integration

3. Statistics
