Sr. Analyst, Business Intelligence

Review industry trends and provide timely, accurate and actionable market intelligence solutions (e.g. studies, forecasts, scenarios, etc.) including the development of database model on fertilizer competitors (production capacities, production cost, etc), market dynamics, global prices, short & medium term supply & development and relevant market elements to BU and SBU management within SABIC and SBU guidelines and in alignment with corporate competitive intelligence with the objective to attain optimum business results

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provides pricing forecast input and base assumptions to Business Management and Sales for short
- to medium-term price outlook which is being used as the basis for pricing guidelines
- Deep understanding of numerous countries/markets within region, it’s dynamics and trends
- Prices and supply/demand forecasting is a sophisticated & specialized area requiring deep analytical/ technical & domain knowledge in the Fertilizer Market including economy & crop prices situation
- Engaging with internal & external stakeholders require communication skills & ability to operate within tight deadline
- Provide corporate strategy with industry index and assumption in the business plan cycle.
- Provide overview on supply / demand balance for SBU key markets including monitoring of competitor capacity outages
- Monitor, analyze government polices /regulations and it is effect on SBU.
- Monitor, analyze regional / global Macro economic and financial indicators and it is effect on SBU
- Lead knowledge management activities within SBU in collaboration with Corporate Strategy.
- Drives the development of specific databases of BU information needs (customers, markets, competitors, products, supply-demand, trade and others)
- Defines the use of consultancy services (market report purchasing, contracts) within SBU and provides directionally steering on deployment
- Serves ad-hoc request from SBU and BU management team on market and competitive intelligence
- Develops intelligence studies and mid-term business scenarios for investment planning and business development decisions
- Supports Business Strategy with market intelligence on long term strategy review and update process

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering
- Five years’ experience in the petrochemicals or in an industrial environment
- Experience in similar positions in the chemical industry or consulting
- Experience in developing and maintaining the Business/Market Intelligence data base
- Experience in developing Petrochemical value and margin models and a good grasp on pricing relations from crude oil to end products.
- Sound judgment, deep Fertilizer/Petrochemical industry domain knowledge
- Excellent IT skills & knowledge of forecasting software tools
- Strong understanding of chemical industry, customers, markets and competitors adapted to the very diverse portfolio of BU’s
- Ability to participate in pricing discussions before setting the prices
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, logical and conceptual skills
- Independent creative lateral thinker
- Recognized thought networking and communication skills
- Ability to interact with a multitude of business areas.
- Capability to work independently with little supervision. Works effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical capabilities to conduct meaningful analysis.
