Role Summary

Provide executive and general management direction for the profitable growth and development of the insurance business for Singapore Branch.

Major duties and responsibilities

Provide strong leadership to the Singapore branch team - directing country-wide development and implementation of short and long-range plans and budgets in accordance with Division goals and growth objectives.

Continue to develop a great place to work for the branch population - retaining, developing and attracting the best talent/teams.

**Analyse overall country and component operating results**: implement corrective action as needed to achieve budgeted profit targets and results; assume area profit and loss responsibility.

Oversee the marketing, development, and management of local indigenous business as well as multinational business whilst guiding the direct team in the adaptation, dissemination and use of policies, procedures and directives.

Maintain and develop great working relationships with important accounts and key producers; negotiate with risk managers, brokers and senior executives to secure new business and maintain existing business; may represent the company in large and/or complex settlements.

Develop and manage an organization which is able to execute and support business strategies and plans; develop and identify talent for key roles and assignments; work in conjunction with human resource management on training and development needs.

Maintain a strong communication stream and partnership with other business units across APAC as well as the Regional leaders to maximise opportunities and achievement of plans.

Be aware of developments within the industry and marketplace, ensure strong governance, compliance with local laws, regulations, and customs.

**Qualifications**:
Experience

Demonstrated 10-15 years successful experience in general insurance and 8-10 years in management positions, which required direction of various functions at a senior management level. With a particular focus on:
Working with multiple channels of distribution.

Leading senior teams.

Working with senior brokers and partners.

Large/complex projects and collaborating with external and internal resources.

Working in a large matrix structure.

**Qualifications**:
Expert knowledge of risk management as well as insurance principles and practices.

Multiline underwriting experience as well as significant financial background/experience.
