**Job Description**:
**Family & Community Worker, Lengkok Bahru Social Mobility Prototype Programe [LB Prototype] - **_Junior & Senior positions availableWe are building a new team for an exciting program, and are looking for passionate, self-directed, and motivated individuals to support the development and implementation of a holistic support offering for families and children living in rental communities, with the aim of enabling social mobility for the families. The initial prototype will be planned in Lengkok Bahru, where South Central Community FSC has a satellite/branch FSC. The team of family and community workers will work on establishing meaningful relationship and trust in the communities and with the families; working with families to enable their personal goals in terms of self-reliance, livelihoods, educational attainment for their children, home ownership etc.

This is an ambitious program, and we are seeking professionals with experience in delivering community and family work, demonstrated ability to support and implement high impact programs and the attitude to work in collaboration internally with other program teams as well as co-ordinating efforts with internal and external stakeholders such other community or grassroots organisation.

The Family Worker will be responsible for community outreach/engagement, forging close and trusting relationships with families through on an ongoing journey, harnessing the assets of the community, preparing families and their communities towards greater readiness and social mobility through a collective set of co-created solutions (e.g. family journeying, leveraging on existing groups and community organising efforts) and the tracking of the family’s journey and progress.

**Responsibilities**:

- Establish a trust-based relationship within communities, that enables mapping community assets and resources, developing and mobilising community groups to offer peer support, engage and develop pool of community volunteers from within the community.
- Establish a trust based and meaningful relationship with each identified family(ies) that enables understanding of the family’s needs, strengths and challenges assessment, coaching to develop and strengthen socio-emotional competencies, facilitate goal setting, facilitate overcoming barriers to their goals; connecting families with community resources; and enable engagement with specialist services based on assessment
- Responsible for supporting implementation of activities like community outreach/engagement efforts that empower families and communities, working with specialist teams enabling Social Work, Education, Livelihoods and Home Ownership intervention for families.
- Provides family casework intervention, family coaching, and offering encouragement to families in developing their access to resources.
- Foster a culture of mutual support and co-operation amongst the identified families in the LB Prototype rental communities, leveraging and building on the assets of the community in Lengkok Bahru for the betterment of family and community life; access resources and capabilities in the ecosystem and arrange collaborative activities where needed.
- Keeping record and up to date documentation of engagement with families, recording families and individuals progress on their goals and actively monitoring own efforts in supporting the program outcomes.

**Requirements**:

- Passionate about access to equitable opportunities to families and communities.
- Knowledge and exposure to community, family or social work interventions in Singapore and of social policies supporting vulnerable communities will be an added advantage
- Growth Mindset and ability to learn new skills and approaches
- Demonstrated ability in developing relationships, keen listening and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to think independently, assess emergent situations, and creatively find apt solutions
- Willingness to work with families through direct engagement, implementing community engagement activities and curate community gatherings
- A team player, with ability to work independently, plan and monitor one's own efforts to outcomes and successfully working with and thriving in a diverse team
- Strong analytical, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology, sociology, social work, Education or other related social sciences disciplines from recognised universities.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience, fresh graduate with industry exposure are welcome to apply.
- Familiar with Asset-based Community-led Development Approach/ working with local rental communities and other social work/ community engagement practices will be advantageous
