**What the role is**

The Singapore Green Plan 2030 sets a mission for the city-state to achieve its long-term net-zero emissions goal. As Singapore’s public housing developer, we play our part in supporting the Singapore Green Plan by planning and developing towns and estates that are smart, sustainable, and eco-friendly. Key targets include:

- HDB towns to use 15% less energy by 2030
- Solar deployment to achieve 540 MWp at 70% of all HDB blocks by 2030
- Reducing urban heat by increasing greenery and using cool paint on building facades

**What you will be working on**

As part of this HDB team, you will undertake the urban systems model that has been established for the computation of the various sustainability performances of HDB towns and estates. The sustainable development performance indicators include but not limited to the area of energy, water, waste, carbon emissions, and greenery & biodiversity. Using data that are gathered from multiple sources, you will gain an understanding of environmental performance of HDB developments. This process will also uncover gaps and opportunities to strategize and recommend improvement measures (through planning, design, and building systems) to stretch carbon emission reduction targets.
The objective is to develop a digital data bank to update and project carbon emissions of each HDB town and to integrate it with a digital map-based model. This model can be used to compare sustainability performance indicators between different towns or user-selected boundary. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop the urban systems map-based model which can aid the measurement and reporting of sustainability targets through but not limited to graphs, charts, and infographics. Periodically, you will also be involved in strategizing effective comms to publicise and position HDB’s sustainable development goals and to promote awareness.

**What we are looking for**

You should possess:

- Relevant working experience with qualifications in any of the listed field: Urban Planning, Sustainable Development, Environmental Management, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Geography, Architecture, and Geographical Information System (GIS) Analytics.
- Proficient knowledge of code in C# and other programming language will be advantageous.
- An inquisitive mind with good communication, interpersonal skills, and a sense of responsibility.
- Able to work independently and in a team, multi-tasking, contribute ideas and assist team members with task/duties, when required.
