**Duties**:

The EXPosure-Related Care Transformation (EXPRT) Center at the NJ War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC)
The EXPRT Center Physician is responsible for providing the following:
- Assists in the development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of the WRIISC educational program, providing leadership, education, and training for field staff in support of military environmental exposures.
- Assists in the development and delivery of varied health education products and consulting with clinicians, Veterans, their caregivers and family members, VA, the non-VA provider community, and the general public.
- Develops tools to support the implementation of education and research on military exposure concerns. The physician consults, advises, and educates all levels of employees including the highest level of management and clinical staff on methods and means to make health care operations more effective and efficient through data analysis and educational forums.
- Duties will also include, but are not limited to, developing, maintain and disseminating relevant, up-to-date military exposure and post-deployment health information that is informed by health education and risk communication theories and principles to Veterans, their caregivers and family members, VA, the non-VA provider community and the general public, using various formats such as print materials (e.g., fact sheets, newsletters, website content), in-services, webinars (live meetings), web-based (e-learning), satellite broadcasts, conferences, etc.
- Supports research efforts seeking to transform care for military exposures.
- Performs comprehensive health assessments, including relevant health history and physical assessment as needed to maintain standards.

**Qualifications**:
- To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
- **Basic Requirements**:
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
