A Lifting Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient planning, execution, and coordination of lifting operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices. They oversee all aspects of the lift, from planning and preparation to the actual lifting and post-operation inspections.
- **Safety and Compliance**:You are responsible for conducting risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and implementing control measures to prevent accidents. Ensure all lifting equipment is in good working order, inspected, and certified, and that all personnel are properly trained and qualified.
- **On-Site Supervision**:Be present during all lifting operations, actively monitoring the lift and ensuring adherence to the plan and safety procedures. You also handle any unexpected issues or changes that arise during the operation.
- **Communication and Briefing**:Attend daily tool box meeting with supervisors and workers for effective consultation, communication and coordination before commencement of work. Communicate effectively with all members of the lifting team, providing clear instructions, addressing concerns, and ensuring everyone is on the same page. You will brief the team on the lifting plan, safe work procedures, and any relevant regulations.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:Maintain records of inspections, tests, and any incidents that occur during lifting operations. Report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills and Qualities:

- **Technical Knowledge**:A strong understanding of lifting equipment, rigging techniques, and relevant regulations is crucial.
- **Leadership and Communication**:The ability to effectively communicate with and lead a team of workers is essential.
- **Problem-Solving**:Lifting Supervisors need to be able to identify and resolve problems that may arise during a lift.
- **Attention to Detail**:You must be meticulous in their work, ensuring that all aspects of the lift are carried out safely and efficiently.
- **Safety-Oriented**:A strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to hazard identification are essential.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Technical/Vocational certificate.
- Completed WSQ Rigging and Signalman course
- Completed Lifting Supervisors Safety course
- Completed BCSS
