**We are recruiting for an exciting role as EH&S Manager for External Supply Consumer Asia Pacific, located in Singapore

**Basic purpose of the role**

The Manager EH&S (Environmental Health and Safety) is a member of the global EH&S External Supply team and a key partner to various J&J Consumer external supply business teams and partners.

You are a key player supporting the J&J processes that handle EH&S compliance and risk management - mainly related to the areas of environmental health, worker protection and facility safety systems and controls - at external manufacturing and supplier sites selected (or considered) for the commercial production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished products of J&J Consumer in Asia Pacific. Key countries in the network are India, China and Japan. Support for the external supply program for Europe, Middle East and Africa, shared with other colleagues, is also part of this impactful position with cross-cultural exposure.

You play a meaningful role in protecting supply continuity and safeguarding the J&J Consumer reputation by ensuring the J&J "Responsible Standards for Suppliers" are deployed, maintained and evaluated.

This will be done through EH&S assessments, onsite supplier audits/visits and supplier technical support/training.

**Key relationships**

Position requires frequent interaction with supplier senior management at all levels in Procurement, Quality, EH&S, Sustainability, Supply Chain and other technical groups across J&J Consumer to follow-up on action plans, foster continuous improvement/innovation and to resolve issues related to identified risks and compliance.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Implement a standardized external manufacturer (EM)/supplier risk assessment process by performing EH&S assessments and on-site audits at EMs and suppliers. Conduct follow-up of agreed upon action plans to address gaps/areas of opportunity.

Communicate risks, prioritize action plans and progress to supply chain leadership. Use engagement and influence to drive activities that reduce/eliminate supplier risks, including - if warranted - presentation of compelling arguments to move away from a high-risk supplier. Partner to deploy sustainability efforts for EMs and API suppliers.

Improve supplier performance & capability by providing training (directly or by partnering with internal colleagues or external consultants) to end up with mature suppliers that are increasingly self-reliant for EH&S.

Partner in the execution of the supply chain sustainability strategies which may include but not limited to EH&S, sustainability, human rights, scope 3 performance measurement, water usage/scarcity and industry benchmarking.

Support to identify and watch regional emerging trends/legislation in your area of expertise.

**Qualifications**
**Education**:
University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Science/EHS or related

**Experience and Skills**:
Required:

- 8+ years of proven experience, strong EHS foundation, eager to learn
- Technical expertise in process safety management (PSM), industrial hygiene (IH), wastewater treatment and general safety management.
- Knowledge in country/local regulations.
- Ability to assess and clearly communicate EHS risks.
- Good collaboration and influencing skills.
- Physical fit to travel and visit supplier sites in hot/cold/wet weather conditions and to climb stairs

**Language Requirements**: Proficient in English.

**Travel Requirements**: Up to 50 %.
