Research Associate in the lab of Assistant Professor Ch’ng Toh Hean
We are recruiting a research associate to join the laboratory of Assistant Professor Ch’ng Toh Hean from the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a joint medical school between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
Our lab focuses on the study of cellular mechanisms of brain plasticity and neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease.
**Job Description**:
- Establish and carry out protocols for cell and molecular biology experiments.
- Handle and perform experiments with mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease, particularly looking at cellular changes in the nuclear pore complexes in Alzheimer’s disease mouse model.
- Help in general lab upkeep, purchasing and maintenance.
- Maintain records of experiments, protocols and compliant safety standards.
- Actively participate in lab events, including lab meetings and contributing to discussions.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Applicants need to have experience working in a wet lab and be proficient in some basic laboratory techniques (i.e. cell cultures, histology, microscopy, brain etc). Experience working in a neuroscience lab and with animal models is required.

- Have effective communication skills, be well-organized and be able to shoulder responsibilities.
- Be able to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively with a diverse and interdisciplinary team.
