DESIGNATION : Vice Principal

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Principal to conceptualize, plan and drive the design and development of an inclusive (suitable for diverse learners) and age-appropriate preschool curriculum, learning environment, programmes and lesson plans in accordance with the school’s vision, mission and core values.
- Engage and establish external collaboration with allied health or special needs professionals to provide a holistic inclusive curriculum for diverse learners.
- Review the inclusive curriculum strategy and individualized educational plans (IEP) periodically to maintain high quality and its relevance to facilitate the optimal development of each child.
- Assist in co-teaching, oversee the learning progress and ensure the goals of children are met. Surface any trends noticed in the classrooms on the learning needs / behaviour needs.
- Oversee the smooth implementation of the inclusive curriculum and IEP across all levels and assist the principal to conduct lesson observations as part of the process to review teachers’ preparations of lesson. evaluations/reflections, lesson plans, teaching aids and children’s portfolios
- Drive the planning and implementation of Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in the classrooms.
- Plan, organize, oversee and participate in school activities inside and outside of the class in order to extend and the experiences and development of the children, where necessary.
- Oversee establish trusting and respectful partnerships with parents and families
- Plan and lead team in organizng workshops and trainings for parents/ caregivers
- Actively lead in Centre intiatives and seek opportunities for collaboration within the village and community innovate and collaborate with MOE on projects
- Understand the training needs of staff at different levels and recommend/arrange staff to attend appropriate internal or external training programmes for their upgrading.
- Participate in appraisal procedures and in-service training that provides personal, professional and career development.
- Liaise and communicate with NIE/ MOE on curriculum issues and participate in industry meetings and forums to continuously improve school's curriculum based on best practices.
- Oversee finance, procurement, HR, inventory and student-related administration and operations to enure compliance with relevant policies/ guidelines, and procedures and alignment with school's strategic plan.
- Allocate and manage resources efficiently to achieve the school's goals
- Harness IT to increase productivity and enhance school processes
- Oversee the facility management and operations; and incorporating best practises to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment
- Ensure appropriate security procedures and measures are in place/ready for implementation when required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree and / or Master’s in Special Education.

OTHER INFORMATION
- Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience and / or minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head of Department.
- A dynamic and highly driven individual with strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical and leadership skills
