Main job responsibility is to support teachers in the care and development of children in child care centres.
They assist classroom teachers when conducting lessons and other classroom activities.
The Para Personnel would also assist to coach individual children who may be physically or educationally challenged and can work with small groups of children, with the teacher’s direction.
Duties & Responsibilities
Present lesson plans, materials or programmes to children in a one-to-one or group setting.
Assist the teacher to monitor and supervise the children in the classroom, on field trips, meal times and other activities; or may monitor the class when teacher is otherwise occupied.
Assist the teacher in preparing for lessons.
Make quick, responsible decisions regarding children’s welfare and safety, including counseling them regarding conduct andand self-discipline.
Experience, qualifications and Training Requirements
Para-educarers are required to undergo the Fundamentals in Early Childhood Care and Education Course. They can acquire the training within one year of joining the service.
Knowledge & Skills required
Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics, or instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness as appropriate.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of children, parents, or peers.
Our locations include **Hougang, Choa Chu Kang, Yishun **and **Jurong West **.
This is a **Full-Time position **.
