Deputy Director, Development

This role is responsible for developing and executing strategies to support the growth and generation of funding resources for the National Heritage Board (NHB) at large. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities for partnerships and revenue generation, as well as oversee the development and implementation of the overall fundraising and sponsorship direction for the National Heritage Board (NHB).

**Responsibilities**
- Business Development _
- Identify new business opportunities and potential clients through market research, networking and other means
- Develop and implement business development strategies to support the organisation’s growth and profitability objectives and create annual business development plans to reach required business objectives and revenue
- Work closely with other divisions across NHB to ensure alignment and integration of business development activities
- Participate in the development of proposals and pitch materials to prospective clients and lead negotiations of contracts and agreements
- Develop and manage budgets for business development activities, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately
- Fundraising & Partnerships _
- Strategise the planning and execution of the overall fundraising and partnership strategy, working across the organisation to ensure effective information sharing, planning and execution.
- Oversee the team in developing new fundraising initiatives and activities for all divisions such as Festivals & Precinct Development, Preservation of Sites & Monuments, Founders’ Memorial, Heritage Institutions etc.
- Oversee the team in developing new partnership initiatives and activities across all divisions to fulfil NHB’s mission, objectives, and plans under NHB’s Heritage Masterplan 2.
- Help maintain the existing portfolio of corporate and foundation relationships of the respective individual divisions.
- Maintain and grow the existing patron relationships and partnerships
- Conceptualise, organise and lead cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year
- Grow institutional donor segment through preparation and pitching of fundraising proposals
- Grow institutional partnerships through preparation and pitching of partnership proposals
- Work across the organisation to develop sound policies and governance in the area of fundraising, prospect research, community of practice, general fundraising and partnership strategic direction for NHB

**Requirements**:

- Preferably at least 7 years of experience in development, sales or related field
- Preferably 7 years or more of fundraising/partnership experience, with demonstrable knowledge of soliciting and stewarding donors and a strong track record of success
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills with the ability to clearly articulate fundraising and partnership strategies and plans
- Proven track record of achieving business development goals and objectives
- Experience operating at a senior level, engaging and influencing stakeholders including trustees, directors and partners
- Have a good network and relationships of potential donors, patrons, industry peers
- Strong supervisory skills, including influencing and communication skills with the ability to oversee a team that generates proposals, pitch/ present and gain commitment from stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical, networking, interpersonal and prospecting skills, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
- Passion and commitment to the art, culture and heritage industry
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays when needed
