Wallenberg - Ntu Postdoctoral Fellow

The Wallenberg-NTU Postdoctoral Fellowship is to bring outstanding young researchers, who have graduated from a Swedish university, to NTU for two years of postdoctoral research and studies. The Postdoctoral Fellows are given the opportunity to participate in a broad range of interdisciplinary activities and programs that characterize NTU's approach to research and education.
This research project will develop cheap and rapid microfluidic systems for microbiome analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- The design and fabrication of microfluidic chips.
- Establishment of the microfluidic platform.
- Collection and staining of microbial and cell samples.
- Image acquisition and development of image recognition algorithms and data processing procedures based on image analysis software.
- Microbiome analysis of intestinal flora.
- Personalized dietary screening for autism spectrum disorder.
- The verification of the abnormal microbial pathogenicity hypothesis.
- Perform in vivo and in vitro preclinical evaluation experiments.
- To work with PhD and other research staff to solve different problems.
- Drafting and submission of technical progress reports at regular intervals.
- Presenting of research progress and latest findings at regular intervals.
Job Requirements:
- Experience using fluorescence microscopy.
- Strong experimental skills, including design, measurement, and data processing.
- Good knowledge and experience working with microorganisms and cell culture.
- Experience using image analysis software and strong programming skills (Matlab, Python or JAVA).
- Excellent English writing and communication skills.
- Skills in materials characterization, electron microscopy, mathematical modelling and laboratory animal manipulation will be an advantage.
