**Job Purpose**

Sustainability aspects increasingly drive the agenda, in business, in society and across Allianz Group. This requires a strategic approach to ensure we fully integrate sustainability into Allianz’s activities as a financial institution and as an organization. We want to be a shaper of sustainability across Asia. The Allianz Asia Pacific regional office has formalized its sustainability governance in the past years to take advantage of sustainability and climate-related opportunities while managing sustainability-related risks and to implement Allianz Group's sustainability stategy.

Based on this, Allianz Asia Pacific is looking for a Regional Sustainability Lead, Asia Pacific to drive Sustainability in business and own operations, together with the (Senior) Management in our 8 countries and the Functional Heads in the regional office. This role will report to the AZAP Member of the Board responsible for Sustainability.

**What you do**

**1. Strategy execution and sustainability governance**
- Develop, execute, and steer the AZAP sustainability strategy in line with the Global Sustainability Strategy and the AZAP Business Strategy
- Lead the regional sustainability community to foster strong collaboration and engagement between the local entity sustainability functions
- Act as a strategic advisor on sustainability matters for the AZAP Board of Management and local OE senior leadership
- Drive the development of sustainability-related content for the strategic and planning dialogues of the AZAP region, including monitoring, and steering of the sustainability/environmental performance
- Act as the key liaison with relevant group-level functions at Allianz SE (Global Sustainability, Sustainable Operations, Group Regulatory and Public Affairs, Group Accounting and Reporting, Group Risk, etc.) on sustainability matters
- Plan and oversee the budget for sustainability-related activities at AZAP

**2. Driving sustainability integration in the region**
- Ensure close collaboration with/between OEs to identify growth opportunities from sustainability and climate-trends with a strong priority on the development of sustainable product offerings aligned to Allianz's internal sustainable prodcut frameworks and external regulation like the EU Taxonomy
- Oversee sustainability-related target setting and steering (CEO targets) across the region and drive the relevant projects to ensure target achievement with relevant AZAP functions and operating entities
- Expand the communication efforts of Allianz Asia Pacific on sustainability matters in alignment with AZAP Communications to ensure strong positioning of Allianz in the region.
- Drive the implementation of internal and regulatory sustainability reporting requirements (including implementation of CSRD in AZAP) in close alignment with AZAP Finance and local finance teams
- Collaborate with AZAP People and Culture on sustainability upskilling programs and activities
- Coordinate the regional and Singapore-based corporate citizenship activities and partnership

**3. Sustainability impact management and due diligence**
- Ownership of the sustainability impact management processes for Allianz Asia Pacific under the requirements of the Allianz Sustainability Integration Framework and internal processes
- Act as the regional escalation point and expert on sustainability risks and impacts in insurance and non-listed investment transactions (transactional ESG due diligence)
- Train local entity counterparts on the management of sustainability impacts in insurance and investment transactions.

**4. Shaping activities**
- Develop content and drive thought leadership to position Allianz as a shaper of sustainability across Asia
- Facilitate engagement with key regulators and standard setters in the region
- Lead and enable upskilling of OE senior leadership, sustainability leads, and other relevant functions to enable shaping activities with regulators and clients
- Represent Allianz Group and AZAP on sustainability matters with external and internal stakeholders

**What you bring**
- Passion for identifying and driving sustainability-led business opportunities
- Master’s degree in ideally a sustainability-related area of study (environmental science, economics, social science, political science)
- 6-8 years of experience in a relevant business role or sustainability management in the insurance industry
- Strong understanding of principles ESG integration, ESG risk management, sustainable insurance solutions, sustainability reporting and data collection
- Experience in managing senior stake holders and multiple projects the same time (for example in a project or matrix environment)
