**Position Summary**

The LNG Originator is responsible for supporting the implementation of strategies for origination of new LNG term transactions and business development efforts regionally and globally for Gulf Coast Trading (GCT). As such, he/she needs to possess solid commercial acumen, strong deal-making capabilities, material transactional experience and problem-solving skills to secure long-term lucrative LNG deals for the organization.

The Originator is expected to engage effectively with the assigned market counterparts and maintain strong internal network with GCT’s internal stakeholders including upstream, LNG trading, LNG operations and shipping team and other support functions to pursue profitable commercial opportunities in the most effective way. He/She should possess an enterprising aptitude, flexible mindset and the ambition to progress in tandem with GCT’s long-term vision.

This position collaborates with a broad range of counterparts from different regions and therefore, the incumbent is expected to respond flexibly to requests outside of normal hours if required.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

1. Identify potential markets to establish new business partnerships and generate new leads. This entails marketing existing positions and creating new merchant positions.

2. Originate, negotiate, and execute identified opportunities in the assigned markets ranging from mid
- and long-term LNG sales and purchases to joint ventures, strategic alliances, and value chain asset investments.

3. Enhance GCT’s assets positions including supply contracts, shipping, and market access rights.

4. Effectively integrate both upstream and downstream sectors of the Gas Value chain to maximize group value. Look to maximize value and pursue commercial opportunities of GCT's equity LNG and downstream positions.

5. Establish and manage long-lasting network of client contacts to enhance market presence and promote GCT’s access to spot and / or term LNG trading opportunities.

6. Devise and negotiate key commercial term proposals, progress buyers and sellers to detailed Heads of Agreements (HOA) and Sale & Purchase Agreements (SPA) negotiations to secure binding commitments (prices, flexibility, shipping etc).

7. Ability to structure offers or bids in the spot and mid-term markets, including participation in tenders, physical, shipping and paper related activities.

8. Promote the global LNG business access to spot and short-term LNG trading opportunities through negotiation, conclusion and implementation of MTAs and CNs, and ongoing management of MTAs.

9. Ensure understanding and adherence to the policies, trading compliance policies and standards, and to its Code of Conduct.

**Requirements**:
1. Bachelor’s degree in any field.

2. Minimum of 5 years’ material transactional experience, preferably in long-term LNG origination, business development, new market development, negotiation and execution of long-term agreements and commercial structuring and development.

3. In-depth knowledge of the LNG industry and commodity markets to engage with LNG counterparts and develop deals in Asia and Europe.

4. Strong LNG commercial acumen and solid understanding of the full LNG value chain.

5. Flexible and commercially focused, with a keen interest in trading and contracting.

6. Numerate and analytical with strong financial modelling skillsets.

7. Good networking, excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Possess strong integrity and immaculate work ethics.

9. Confident strong self-starter.

10. Able to represent GCT externally at the highest levels with Government, customers, and partners.
