**Position overview**

We are seeking a Venture Data Analyst to drive the Firm’s initiatives to have the most complete database of companies, founders, and deals in the region and to incorporate more systemized thinking into all aspects of our decision making.

Monk’s Hill Ventures is a leading venture capital firm that invests in early-stage technology companies across Southeast Asia. We are entrepreneurs backing great entrepreneurs who use technology to improve the lives of millions of people in the region.

**What You’ll Do**

Data management:

- Gather overall market intelligence, including on: startups, funding, other venture funds, exits, trends by verticals (fintech, logistics, etc.), trends by countries, macro trends, etc.
- Design and implement work flows, procedures, and software to automate and improve data collection
- Streamline Human-CRM interactions via processes and automation
- Uses research, intuition, and experience to complement data

Database optimization:

- Customize existing CRM database via code to enable more efficient and accurate organization of data

Reporting and dashboards:

- Create reports for weekly team meetings to discuss deals and fundraising
- Create regular and ad-hoc reports for our investor updates and initiatives
- Make improvements to dashboards where necessary - reporting needs to stay relevant and useful

Analytics and business insight:

- Utilize CRM to monitor performance and effectiveness of the Firm’s initiatives
- Analyze and present data to empower team members to make better decisions
- Be able to dive into the details but also take a step back to view the fund’s pipeline strategically
- Generate deep insights from CRM to drive the Firm’s POV on markets

**What You’ll Need**

- Working coding knowledge (we’re language agnostic, if you’re good; you’ll pick it up)
- Genuine enthusiasm for startups and venture capital
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
- “Always on” mentality and the willingness to take initiatives
- An extremely detail oriented mindset and fondness for process discipline while multi-tasking several projects
- Ability to work as part of a team remotely while maintaining communication with team. Must be able to work independently on assigned projects with mínimal supervision
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience; MS in Data Science or MBA preferred
