What You Will Achieve

In your role, you have the all-important task of ensuring that quality control procedures adequately evaluate our organization's products. You will be relied on to determine if our current methods and techniques result in meeting the prescribed standards, methods and procedures.

You will analyze and design testing process, develop new analytical methods and techniques to support our quality programs. You will provide statistical analysis, centralized investigation support, technology implementation, and establish requirements for the transfer of methodology from R&D and/or donating sites. You will ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

As a Senior Associate, your knowledge and skills will contribute towards the goals and objectives of the team. Your focus and ability to meet team targets will help in completing important deliverables on time. Your innovative use of communication tools and techniques will make it easy to manage difficult issues and help in establishing consensus between teams.

Will serve as a member of the Technical Services team that will provide chemistry and analytical related technical support to production and technology transfer.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform chemical analysis using analytical instrumentation such as but not limited to UPLC, HPLC, FTIR and GC using existing methods or with modification where required.
- Set up test methods in the lab as per procedures.
- Write and maintain accurate, complete and timely data in electronic laboratory notebooks as per good documentation and good laboratory practice.
- Analyse and interpret test data.
- Prepare high quality technical reports and summaries of experimental procedures, data and conclusions.
- Collaborate with process scientists and organic synthesis plant (OSP) process engineers to provide direct manufacturing support during process start-ups, new product introduction, process modifications/improvement and plant investigations.
- Work with OSP process engineers to anticipate and eliminate any process chemistry related issues through analytical support.
- Experience in the use of empower software preferred.
- Work with quality control to develop the necessary documentation in support of any production changes or abnormal process operations to assure that all products meet all Pfizer and regulatory quality standards.
- Experience in laboratory instrument qualification preferred.
- Perform equipment troubleshooting where required.
- Mentor junior chemists on the use of analytical instrument and analysis.
- Practise good housekeeping and ensure adherence to all Pfizer safety rules and procedures.
- Purchase laboratory consumables and maintain laboratory chemical inventory.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in the laboratory activities.
- Participate in Pfizer Global Best Practices Teams as necessary.
- Participate in Global product development teams as necessary.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or advanced degree in Chemistry /Analytical Chemistry/related discipline
- 5 years for senior analytical chemist
