Charter Haus Pte Ltd, based in Singapore, is a niche broking shop employing 10 people over a network of 3 offices.

The company provides comprehensive shipbroking services to its global client base in Tanker and Containership markets.

Its shipbrokers are active in chartering, second-hand sale and purchase, and demolition as well as in providing valuation, and market research services.

**The Singapore Office is looking for an Experience Broker to join the Specialised Tanker Team.**

**Description of Role, Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- As a Shipbroker in chemical tankers, you will have responsibility to manage your own book of business within the organisation.
- Typical responsibilities of a Shipbroker would involve marketing of tonnage (ships) to customers/shippers/charterers. Negotiate spot/time charters to achieve maximum income for the owners
- You would maintain records or tonnage within the company’s database
- A Shipbroker is involved in many stages of setting up and negotiating deals, including presenting the business to potential clients, negotiating the main terms of a contract or sale and seeing it through to its conclusion and any follow up that may be involved
- Like any role that involves buying and selling, a good Shipbroker would build up a database of contacts and keep a close eye on the shipping market, interpreting trends and seeing opportunities for clients.

**Duties and responsibilities will include**:

- Highlighting fixture opportunities to clients;
- Developing / expanding a client base;
- Understanding the business strategy for the tankers division and seeking to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients;
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the market space;
- Performing market analysis and providing market insight and trade ideas to clients;
- Working with other members of the Charter Haus team across the division and internationally to meet client needs;
- Servicing and developing client relationships, including by providing valuable and frequent communications with clients;
- Assisting with charter parties and issuing recaps relating to charters for the transport of cargos on vessels.
- Developing and executing business strategies to achieve short and long-term goals
- Able to identify opportunity for growth, assist with recruitment training and onboarding processes.

The role of shipbroker will require the following skills:

- Being professional, confident, enthusiastic and detail-oriented;
- Having excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills;
- Having the ability to work independently, exercise good judgment and be resourceful;
- Having good organisational skills
- Ability to work within a team.
- Minimum 3 years of proven track records

**In addition**:
Knowledge and experience is required in/of:

- The maritime/shipping sector
- Physical shipbroking and associated practices
- Chemical tanker trading; and
- IT systems commonly used by shipbrokers.
