Singapore MODEC OFFSHORE PRODUCTION SYSTEMS (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. Full time

Job Responsibilities:

- Comply with the MODEC Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and Anti-Corruption Compliance Policy.
- The position requires supervision from line management, but as familiarity with the role increases, is able to perform routine legal tasks unsupervised.The position holder will largely plan and execute tasks on an assigned activity basis
- Responsible for providing legal input to the negotiation of general terms and conditions for Company Project and Corporate contracts. A member of the Corporate legal department, providing both general legal services to internal corporate clients and support to Company FPSO Project clients.
- May be assigned to assist with other legal tasks within the MODEC Group.
- Support administration of the Legal Department with responsibility for organising and maintaining logs and files (both in terms of a central database and hard copy filing systems) in a systematic manner to allow for easy access.
- (b) Develop familiarity with the Company standard template contracts and general terms and conditions. Responsible for distribution of Legal Department’s standard template contracts to Project users. Support the negotiation and formal response to subsequent clarifications in accordance with Legal Department principles and undertake drafting of contractual deviations as required.
- (c) Communication to Projects and other Company departments legal positions, justifications and associated risks.
- (d) Drafting of internal approval sheets and obtaining the various levels of approval for all contract terms and conditions.
- (e) Legal input to Project claims and any disputes that may arise.
- (f) Establish high quality cooperation and teamwork. Contribute to a positive work environment. Embraces diversity. - Administratively and functionally reports directly to the Contracts, Legal and Compliance Head of Department.
- Operationally reports to the Legal Manager.
- Strong internal network. Frequent interaction with peers and Confidently works in team.
- Commencing to interact with external stakeholders. Effectively leading engagement opposite contractors for small-size (value, risk, complexity) contracts.

Additional advantage if fluency in Japanese, Portugeses and other european languages in order to communicate with different stakeholders from aroudn the world.

(a) Be aware of and can locate the HSEQ Policy, the 14 HSEQ Standards and the Corporate HSEQ Procedures.

(b) Report all incidents immediately to your Supervisor or HSEQ Representative.

(c) Follow MODEC Procedures and Work Instructions. It is always important to follow the correct processes to protect yourself and the environment. Specific Roles & Responsibilities are found in the Corporate HSEQ Management System and your local HSEQ Procedures.

(d) Take responsibility for evaluating and correcting Health, Safety and Environmental risks and conditions while performing your work. If you ever feel the HSE risks have not been appropriately addressed, you have the right to stop work immediately and notify your Supervisor.

(e) Know your role in the event of an emergency as site specific emergency response is conducted and drilled.

(f) To ensure procedures are established in accordance with the applicable HSEQ standards, client contract requirements, where applicable and are implemented.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

- Tertiary professional with law degree qualification: minimum 2 years relevant experience.
- Experience in construction law is an advantage.
- Knowledge of typical legal and contractual elements connected with Engineering, Procurement and Construction (“EPC”) projects is an advantage.
- Experience in the offshore oil & gas industry and knowledge of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (“FPSO”) vessels is an advantage.
- Knowledge of vessel chartering and/or offshore construction / installation is an advantage.
- Fluent in oral and written English language.
- Additional advantage if fluency in Japanese, Portugeses and other european languages in order to communicate with different stakeholders from around the world.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player and meticulous to details.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATIONS:

(a) MODEC Project and Contracting Procedures, Marine Insurance, and Bank Guarantees.
