Financial Controller

**Responsibilities**

**Finance and Operations**
- Serve as business partner to the Heads of Brand and Heads of Department and make recommendations concerning business operations and resource allocation to improve financial performance and support operational excellence
- Provide the management team with a good overview of the business performance trend and pro-actively participate in business reviews and provide advice on improving the business financial performance
- Direct, manage and review the annual financial planning/ budgeting, and monthly/quarterly forecasting process to ensure timely reports are submitted to management and provide the detail analysis to Head of Finance
- Establish good working relationship with the manufacturers, ensure submission of composite reports are on time and accurate, attend promptly to their queries and ensure payments are made as per credit
- Oversee the preparation of month end financial reporting, consolidation, planning and analysis activities and is accountable for timely preparation and submission of financial and managerial financial reports and analysis that accurately reflect the financial position of reporting entities. Includes variance analysis, margin forecasting, and productivity improvement goals
- Responsible for the preparation and review of Balance Sheet and P&L schedules/analysis and ensure reconciliation and outstanding items are attended to and cleared promptly
- Responsible for quarterly, yearly and adhoc stock take process and highlight any risks / issues promptly to the Head of Finance
- Responsible for annual financial year end audit and ensure compliance to local and international accounting standards and reports are submitted on time.
- Review commission schemes, operational proposal from finance standpoint and highlight concerns, risks to Heads of Brand or Heads of Department

**Tax and GST**
- Responsible for taxation and GST and ensure accurate submission as per statutory/company timelines
- Monitor tax and GST development and legislative changes, evaluate relevant financial and tax impact on business, recommend solutions and / or identify tax planning categories
- Assess and manage tax risks and controls. Review tax queries and mange tax audits and liaise with tax consultant to formulate responses on time to the local government tax department

**Treasury**
- Monitor cashflow to ensure efficient utilisation of cash/funding and timely submission of monthly cashflow forecast to Singapore office
- Ensure there are sufficient bank facilities for operations, new investments or adhoc requests
- Liaise with banks promptly and ensure documents submitted to signatories are accurate
- Ensure bank reconciliation is prepared and reviewed promptly and as per timeline from HOF
- Manage cost of finance and bank charges expenses to ensure they are kept under
- Identify ways to minimize the company’s foreign currency risk exposure and cost of finance exposure

**Controls, Risk Management and Compliance**
- Ensure compliance with company’s policies and Standard Operating Processes (SOP) and Limits of Authority (LOA), statutory, legal and audit requirements
- Constantly review and improve the financial and operations controls and ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Limits of Authority (LOA) are
- In charge of credit control and timely follow up of receivables and ensure operations comply with SOP and LOA

**Corporate / Personnel**
- Liaise with corporate office for corporate secretarial matters and ensure required documents, board resolutions are prepared and signed as per required timeline
- In charge of insurance coverage and ensure that there is sufficient coverage for existing and new businesses. Review coverage quarterly and update Head of Finance on adequacy of coverage and inform insurance company timely in the event insurance coverage has to be be
- Coach, train and develop the finance team. Identify ways to streamline and automate processes to maintain and efficient headcount

**Requirements**:

- Degree qualification in Accounting/ Finance with at least 10 years of post qualified managerial experience. CPA / CA / ACCA (or equivalent full membership in professional accounting bodies recognised by ISCA)
- Experience in retail sales and distribution; experience in automotive industry is an advantage but not a pre-requisite
