Project Title: Harnessing Positive Psychology Principles in Fostering Academic Motivation/Engagement and Wellbeing of Low-Progress Learners in Singapore [OER 06/20 GADL]

Project Introduction:
This project seeks to contribute to the effort of uplifting low-progress learners in Singapore. Underpinned by the principles and philosophies of Positive Psychology (Seligman & Csikzentmihalyi, 2000) and, more specifically, the PERMA (Positive emotions, Engagement, positive Relationships, Meaning and purpose, and sense of Accomplishment; Seligman, 2011, 2018) and EPOCH (Engagement, Perseverance, Optimism, Connectedness and Happiness; Kern, Benson, Steinberg, & Steinberg, 2016) models of wellbeing of adults’ and adolescents’ flourishing, respectively, the overall project comprises 5 Sub-Projects and aims to develop a unifying framework that informs educational policy, and strengthens educational practice in fostering academic motivation, engagement and psychological wellbeing of low-progress learners (Normal Stream) students in Singapore.

We are recruiting for the last portion of the second phase (Sub-Project 1) in this project to examine longitudinal changes of PERMA-EPOCH-derived wellbeing dimensions across three years (i.e., Secondary 1 to 3) as well as the relations between PERMA-EPOCH-derived wellbeing dimensions and key academic factors (e.g., academic motivation, academic resilience).

**Requirements**:

- A degree related to psychology, education or related fields
- Preferably with prior experience in quantitative research and familiar with research methods, such as interview, survey and/or assessment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good attention to detail
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Able to learn fast, multi-task and work within tight schedules
- Proficiency in spoken and written English

**Responsibilities**:

- Administer surveys to students in schools
- Coordinate schedules for data collection with participants and schools
- Assist in data entry and processing
- Contribute to the dissemination of research findings including conducting literature reviews, preparing academic publications and research reports.
- Assist with any other duties as and when assigned by Principal Investigator
