**SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES, INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST**
Within the Executive Directorate Police Services, Cybercrime Directorate (EDPS/CD), the objectives of an INTERPOL Cybercrime Operations Officer, working together with member countries, private public partners, and other relevant stakeholders, include:
- Develop and coordinate operational plans and activities; these operations are aimed to prevent, detect and disrupt cyber-dependent or cyber-enabled criminal activities;
- Support the Organization at relevant events at a regional or global level, such as Working Groups on Cybercrime;
- Represent INTERPOL and the Cybercrime Directorate in regional and international forums related to cybercrime and cybersecurity.
The post holder develops initiative and tenacity to transition actionable intelligence into operational outcomes working primarily with member countries in facilitating the coordination of their operational activities. He/she provides advice and guidance on global operational outcomes is also critical.
The officer develops networks with other stakeholders that will aid in facilitating the progression of activities through to operations. He/she will work closely with other teams within CD and INTERPOL and may be required to facilitate and assist other operational teams.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES**
The post holder will provide support to the following main functions:
DUTY 1/Mission 1: Expertise
- Contribute to the development of operational plans and threat and harm reduction strategies to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Provide up-to-date knowledge on standards for operational practice to support decision making.
- Provide timely, accurate and relevant advice to the Member Country on the available tactical considerations and options to support decision making and the effective operational delivery.
DUTY 2/Mission 2: Liaison
- Identify and agree with the roles within the scope of an operation, liaising with key personnel and contributing to the planning and briefing processes as required, to achieve strategic, tactical, and operational aims and objectives.
DUTY 3/Mission 3: Knowledge sharing
- Engage in and contribute to the debriefing process to ensure information is effectively transmitted and to contribute to organisational learning.
- Aid in the planning and delivery of operational meetings and other events delivered by the Operations Sub-Directorate.
- Deliver virtual and in-person presentations on behalf of the Cybercrime Directorate in topics related to cybercrime or cybersecurity.
DUTY 4/Mission 4: Other
- Perform any other duties as required by the hierarchy.
**QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS**
Education and Qualification Required
- Three-to-four years University education required.
Experience Required
- At least three years of experience in the cybercrime area. Ten years’ experience in cybercrime is required if the post holder does not have the required level of education.
- Experience in international cooperation and investigations.
- Strong background in open-source research.
- Current responsibility for cybercrime related crime investigations.
Languages
- Working knowledge of English is required. Proficiency in a second official working language of the Organization (Arabic, French or Spanish) would be an additional asset.
